FALL FESTIVAL OF SHAKESPEARE
The annual Fall Festival of Shakespeare is a nine-week residency program at ten high schools and associated middle schools throughout western Massachusetts and parts of Neighboring New York State. Shakespeare & Company directors at each school lead nearly 500 students through a language based exploration of a Shakespeare play, culminating in a full-scale production performed on Shakespeare & Company’s mainstage, the Tina Packer Playhouse for eachother and the public.
Two directors are sent out to each of the ten schools, along with the directors each school is assigned a Production Designer and a Costume Designer. The Production Designer is tasked with creating a set, lighting and sound designs, and supplying all the props for two of the ten shows within a small budget. All Production Designers asked to provide support to the other Production Designers when needed.
