Antigone
Scenic designer
Antigone was produced in February of 2017 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro- Taylor Theatre. This production took into account the political events of contemporary culture and the parallels between them and the story of Antigone and Creon. The set is a reflection of both ancient architecture and more contemporary themes in order to tie the modern world with the original story of antiquity. The intention was to create a war-torn world that must be built up from the ground in order to thrive once again. A varying range of materials are used in order to give the set a chaotic disjointed feeling. Creon takes up the responsibility to rebuild Thebes and erects a 'camp' for him and his troops and staff as they begin to make decrees or the betterment and protection of Themes.
