A midsummer nights dream
Assistant designer & properties master
During my undergraduate studies at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst I had the privilege of serving as the Associate Designer and Properties Master for the Departments show of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare’s classic plays. This particular production was set in post-World War I Athens. The set itself shows the deterioration of classic Greek architecture and overgrowth of foliage on that architecture to show the passage of time and portray the forest setting that most of the story takes place in.

The overgrown vines that surround the central column had flowers inside which small lights were placed to make the flowers glow when in Titania’s Bower.
The tall column had stairs that lead to the top for Oberon and Puck to climb and sit on. The top of the column was Plexiglas and lit from underneath for ‘magic’ moments.
